RV Trip to Nrw Orleans-Mardi Gras 2013

Thursday, February 7, 2013

We left at 8:00 for breakfast at Brennans, a prestigious restaurant where dignitaries go. The breakfast was excellent.
At 10:00 after breakfast we had a walking tour led by a lady who lives right at the French Quarter. It lasted an hour and a half. After the walking tour we were on our own again. Did more shopping of T-shirts and mugs. Also went to their flea market and believe it or not very expensive. I always thought that flea market is supposed to be cheaper than regular store. Had some drink at one of the outside cafe and also ordered PoBoy Fish sandwich to go for our dinner. Rick and Nikki paid for it.Also listened to the Jazz music at the cafe.
We were picked up at the US Mint at 2:00 pm.
At 6:00 pm we were picked up again for the 2nd day parade. There were 3 parades and thank God the weather was nice. This time the St Charles bleacher was packed. The floats were bigger and better on the 2nd day. It gets better and better everyday until Fat Tuesday which is the Super Mardi Gras of all parades.

More beads were collected. 3 bags of assorted beads. We went crazy again reaching for those beads. We stayed till the 3rd parade almost finished. We didn't get back to our motorhome till 12:30 am.
