RV Trip to New Orleans-Mardi Gras 2013

Left Whispering Oaks RV Park in Weimar, Texas at 7:58 am. On the road again to Lafayette, Louisiana. Sun is out but still hazy.

Stopped at the best rest area we had encountered in all our travelings. It's located between Houston and Beaumont Texas. had something to eat here. It rained a little bit and the temperature was getting warmer. We drove through Houston and San Antonio, Texas. We left today which is Sunday to avoid the traffic of Houston and San Antonio. We got through with no problem. Of course the stress is on the driver, my dear husband. Arrived at Lafayette KOA at 3:00 pm. Registered at the office and settled in at the park. Filled up our propane gas at this KOA. We are staying at this KOA for 8 nights. Since we were staying for 8 nights we got 2 nights free and we also got $50 discount for earning our points. $254 for 8 nights is not too shabby. After a long drive the 1st thing we do is relax,stretch and rest. They have good cables so we  watch good TV too.
