Checked out at our Cairo hotel at 2:00am and left for the Cairo airport at 0545. Arrived in Jordan at 0815 Jordan time. Rented an SUV Ford Expedition.
It was 3 hrs drive to Petra. Romeo and Michael alternated in driving. We took the backway instead of the highway to Petra. It was a winding road. Checked in at the Petra guest house and stayed 1 night. Beautiful place with the view of the valley from our room. Lumin and I rested till evening while our 3 young co traveler went to Petra.
In the evening all 5 of us walked to Petra, it was a 40 minute walk. It was dark all the way and only light we have are candles on the pathway. It was awesome when we got there.
